Did You Know?

The Mi-Ki is a relative newcomer to the dog world, having only become popular in the 1980s. They were bred in the United States, but their origins are something of a mystery.

Some speculate these intelligent pooches come from a single breed from Asia, while others argue the opposite – that they come from a more complex mix of toy dog breeds (particularly Papillon, Maltese, Shih-Tzu and Japanese Chin).

However they came to be, their unique genetic mixture has resulted in two coat varieties: the long and the smooth. Overall, they’re an exceptional toy breed with outstanding health and life expectancy. What’s more, their loving, playful personalities make them great companion dogs. So well done, mystery ancestors – whoever you were.
